Meet Cara - an affectionate, loyal companion looking for an experienced home. Cara is a large mixed-breed dog who absolutely loves people. She forms strong bonds with her humans and shows her happiness with full-body wiggles, a bright smile, and an eagerness to be close to her people. She is deeply people-oriented and thrives on connection. Cara is seeking a home with no other pets. She prefers to be the only animal in the household, where she can feel secure and focus on her relationship with her family. On walks, Cara is reactive to other dogs, even at a distance. Her reactions can be intense, and because of this, she has not been introduced to other dogs while in our care. She will need a handler who can confidently manage her in public settings and continue her training. The good news is that Cara is responsive, walks well on leash, and has already begun learning that reacting is unnecessary. With consistency and structure, she is showing progress-but this will be an ongoing training journey. Cara is best suited for someone with prior large-breed or behavior experience who is comfortable working through reactivity. Her adopter must also commit to at least one training session with our trainer to ensure a smooth transition and set everyone up for success. In the home, Cara is a loving, happy companion who enjoys being with her people and will happily engage in short games of fetch before settling in for quality time.
