About Poppy

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet poppy, a remarkable terrier patiently waiting to find her forever home where she can shine. She’s already house-trained and crate-trained, giving her a wonderful head start in home life. While comfortable in a crate, poppy much prefers spending her days out with family, engaging in the household and being part of daily activities. This little companion loves walks and, with her moderate energy, she enjoys both playtime and relaxing at home. At first she may pull with excitement on walks, but she soon settles into a pleasant pace. Poppy is generally quiet, only barking to alert you when someone passes by. She has successfully lived with a cat and can adapt to homes with feline friends. She does wonderfully with adults, and though she hasn't been around children, her calm and adaptable nature offers promise. With other dogs, poppy thrives when introductions are slow and thoughtful. She may bark at unfamiliar dogs on walks, but she’s made great progress over time. Whether as an only dog, or with other canine companions and an experienced owner who can guide introductions, poppy is ready to fit right in. Ideally, she’d love a home with a fenced yard for running and play. Poppy hopes for someone patient and understanding—someone ready to give her the consistency and warmth she truly deserves. In return, she promises to be a devoted and loving friend. Applicants should ideally reside within an hour of Cary, NC, as poppy’s foster guardians deliver her to approved homes and conduct adoption visits to ensure the perfect fit. For the perfect match, the rescue will consider applicants who live a bit farther away. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
