****We are Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S) – Stephenville, TX - We are a small, foster based animal rescue, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, based out of Stephenville, TX. We work to rehabilitate and rehome unwanted cats and dogs in Stephenville and surrounding towns. We have recently expanded our scope to include Hamilton County, TX and are currently working with the City of Hamilton and the Hico Police Department to find loving foster and permanent homes for dogs that have been abandoned and have ended up in the Hamilton Pound or the Hico Animal Shelter. Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S.)’s mission is to sponsor low cost spay/neuter and wellness exams, provide community education and provide food and supplies to those in need. We also do our best to find loving homes for abandoned, neglected, or abused animals. Our animals are vaccinated and on preventatives. Animals older than six months are spayed or neutered. We are in Texas, and we transport our dogs North because Texas is overflowing with unwanted dogs. Perhaps, Charlie is the one for you. Meet Charlie!! Charlie is 5 years old, 65 lbs., neutered male German Shorthaired Pointer. Charlie came to his foster after his former owner got married and had a child. The toddler didn't play nice with Charlie and the owner, now with another child on the way, doesn't have time to give Charlie the attention he needs. Charlie is a wonderfully happy, loving dog with a lot of energy, who doesn’t know he's the size of a small horse. He needs a home with a fenced yard, where he has plenty of room to run. Access to a pool, pond, creek or river would be great because he loves water! Right now, he is dealing with a small plastic patio pool at the foster's house! Charlie is house trained, kennel trained, and rides well in the car. He loves his people but because of his size and not understanding personal boundaries… no small children. He does well both inside and outdoors. He sleeps inside at night in his kennel and does fine, but would likely prefer to sleep next to, or on top of, you in your bed. After all he is a GSP. Charlie has had basic training at a school but needs refreshing on that. He gets along well with other dogs but, as with all new dogs in a home, will need proper, slow introductions. Though he's currently in a foster home with small dogs, because of his size, Charlie would probably do best with large/medium dogs. No cats!! Charlie is a great dog who deserves a wonderful, loving home with an active human companion and room to run. Could that home be yours?
