Hi, I'm Hippo. Life didn't start out very kind to me, but every day I'm getting my life back a little more. I'm a really happy girl who loves people, and being around my humans is my favorite thing in the world. I love toys, too, but soft toys are way too easy to shred, it's over in two minutes and honestly not very entertaining. If you've got the extra-durable kind that actually lasts a while, now that's more my speed! When I first came here, I could barely walk. Everyone kept believing in me, and I kept trying. Now look at me, I'm almost 100% back on my feet, running, jumping, and having the happiest time just being a dog again. I'm still figuring out how I feel about other dogs, so I'd do best as the only dog in the home, where I can have all the love and attention to myself. Honestly, that sounds pretty perfect to me. All I want now is a safe place, kind people, and the chance to keep living the life I fought so hard to get back in a forever home.
