Boomer Came to DASH from a tiny shelter in rural Oklahoma. He was owner surrendered in a from her family where he was actually trained as an Emotional Support Animal. Boomer did absolutely nothing wrong; it turned out that the child for whom he was trained was to active and not gentle enough to have the dog :( Boomer is wonderful! He is so cuddly and in typical Aussie fashion he wants to follow a person everywhere they go - including the bathroom. He doesn’t have any sense of personal space so that’s something that the new owner will have to teach him. However, when he is under foot, he’s not trying to cause any problems. He’s quiet and gentle and occasionally just looks up in his humor with his beautiful big eyes. Boomer is also playful. He has a moderate energy level and so far he will chase after a ball, but doesn’t love bringing it back as much. I’m sure in time he could be trained to play fetch. Boomers’s main goals to hang out with the humans though he does wonderfully with other dogs. He’s fostering with a male and female and be behaving perfectly with both. Boomer is around 40 pounds; he’s a great size, a little bigger than a mini and smaller than a male standard Australian Shepherd. Really absolutely perfect. If you’ve been looking for a medium sized, Australian shepherd, he’s gentle who would love to go places with you and who can behave himself in public Boomer could be your new guy!
