While enjoying a quiet Saturday morning, a volunteer called requesting help with a dog lying in a ditch on the side of Steve Tate Highway. Plans for the day took a backseat to helping this sweet pup who had been most likely hit by a car. BCAR volunteers were able to load him on a gurney that had been recently donated by a Big Canoe Resident! How timely was that? A visit to our vet confirmed that he suffered a badly broken hip. He has now had surgery on his hip, and other vetting. He is walking well, and available for adoption. His sweetness and optimism has not wavered through all he has been through. He enjoys slow walks, sniffing, car rides, and hanging out with people. Dakota reminds us again about the amazing resilience of dogs!
