Hi there, I'm Julius! I came into the rescue in December along with my littermates. You may remember us, every single one of us was orange! I got adopted back in December and thought I had my happily ever after. But then I started having labored breathing, and I was taken to the vet for diagnostics. My chest and abdomen were full of fluid, and I was given a diagnosis of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a very treatable illness that happens when the immune system overreacts to a virus in the body. This causes all sorts of inflammation, fevers, and sometimes fluid accumulation like I had. This is NOT contagious to other cats, and I will have a healthy and normal life after treatment is finished. Sadly, my adoptive family decided they would not keep me, so I headed to a medical foster home after my trip to the ER. I'm doing fantastic and am on the mend, acting like a normal kitten again! Here's a little information about me: I'm 10 months old and I'm a neutered male. I'm a talker! I yell at my foster mom when I'm hungry, lonely, or even just want scritches or a belly rub. I love other cats and am very interested in playing and cuddling with the others in my foster home. I require another cat in my foster/forever home. I'd probably be ok with a cat-savvy dog. I love kids! I am fully vetted including neuter, a negative combo test, and all my annual vaccines. I was returned to the rescue with a positive fecal for two yucky parasites, but the rescue has treated me and I will be due for a recheck fecal exam next week. I am on medication for my FIP once per day. The medication is a liquid, and it's actually pretty tasty - tuna flavor! The rescue will cover the cost of my treatment and my follow up bloodwork. Treatment is 84 days and I am already well on my way to being cured. Because of my FIP, I am looking for a Foster-to-Adopt home. I'd love to settle into what will be my forever home while I'm recovering from this awful illness. I'm a sweet sweet boy and I know a dedicated family is out there for me.
