About Shadow
Shadow keeps to herself most of the time, content to lounge in quiet spots and nap the day away. She’s gotten used to gentle head bumps and the comfort of familiar routines, and her soft chirps break the silence when she wants attention. In the past, Shadow struggled in the loud shelter environment, often flinching at abrupt movements and occasionally swatting if she felt cornered. Since living in a calmer home, much of that fearfulness has faded. She responds well to patience, gentle encouragement, and a slow approach—especially from people who understand that her space is her sanctuary. Shadow will approach when she feels ready, and she genuinely loves being petted, often pressing into hands and sometimes tipping herself right over with enthusiasm. Gentle ear rubs and slow strokes down her back bring out her affectionate side. She’s had a few uneasy moments with other cats, and while she lived with two cats previously, it’s probably best she’s the only animal in her next home. At nine, Shadow is a little overweight and deals with some tooth decay, but this is typical in senior cats. She’ll do best with someone patient, calm, and understanding of her quirks.
