About Shadow
Start your journey together! Apply now. Shadow is a coy companion perfect for those who appreciate long naps, gentle head bumps, and soft, quiet chirps. In previous shelter environments, Shadow was considered at-risk due to her distancing and defensive behaviors, such as flinching at sudden noises or movements and occasionally swatting if she felt threatened. However, in a peaceful home setting, these behaviors have significantly improved with positive reinforcement, gradual exposure, and, most importantly, respect for her boundaries. Once she’s comfortable, Shadow’s affectionate side truly shines. She will come to you when she’s ready for attention and absolutely loves being petted, often leaning so enthusiastically that she sometimes tumbles over in surprise. She particularly enjoys soft ear scritches and gentle strokes along her head and back. Though there have been mild tensions with other cats in her current home, and her previous rehoming was after living with two other cats, Shadow may thrive best as the only animal in a quiet, patient household. This lovely nine-year-old girl is mildly overweight and faces some tooth decay—common at her age. Shadow’s behavioral needs can be met by an understanding and compassionate caregiver willing to give her the trust and patience she deserves. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
