About Edgar
Edgar is the kind of dog who simply makes sense. There’s no chaos, no constant demands — just a steady, gentle presence that quietly settles into your life and makes everything feel a little calmer. He’s a senior Shepherd who seems to already understand how a home works. Since arriving, he’s been nothing but respectful, easygoing, and genuinely sweet. Living with Edgar feels natural. He’ll join you for a walk, happily zig-zagging to take in all the smells without ever pulling you along. He’ll drop a ball or his Kong at your feet with a soft nudge, as if to say it’s your turn. And when he wants affection, he’ll sit beside you, rest a paw on your leg, and lean in like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Edgar is fully house trained with no accidents and has lovely manners in the home. He knows “sit,” takes treats gently (even if he’s not overly impressed by them), and has been consistently kind and friendly with every new person he’s met. More than anything, he values closeness and connection — he just wants to be near his person. Right now, Edgar would prefer to be the only dog in the home. With time and very thoughtful introductions, he may be able to live with another dog, but he’s happiest keeping things simple for now. He is also working through a bit of separation anxiety, which seems to stem from adjusting to a new environment and will likely improve as he settles into a routine. Edgar isn’t a project or a challenge. He’s a good, steady dog who’s ready for a quiet home, some daily walks, and someone to share his space with. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
