About Molly
* If you are interested in adopting Molly, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application. Molly is a sweet, spunky 7 month old Corgi / Lab mix that weighs 32 lbs. She is expected to weigh around 40 lbs when she is fully grown. This sweet girl is a perfect blend of affectionate, social, playful, cuddly, and curious. Molly is incredibly social and loves being included in daily life. She enjoys meeting new people, being part of gatherings, and tagging along on outings. Whether it’s grabbing brunch at a dog-friendly patio, strolling through a farmers market, or hanging out at a backyard BBQ, Molly is happiest when she’s by your side. She brings a cheerful, easygoing energy that makes her a great companion in both lively and laid-back settings. She is a total goofball with a big personality. She has a silly, endearing way about her that will keep you smiling every day. Whether she’s tossing her toys in the air, zooming around the yard, or making funny faces to get your attention, she knows how to make life more fun. At the same time, she has a very gentle, loving side and absolutely adores being close to her people. If it were up to her, she’d happily spend hours curled up next to you, soaking up all the affection she can get. She has an active, playful spirit and loves chasing tennis balls, playing with squeaky toys, and wrestling or running around with her doggy friends. Molly would thrive in a home where she has opportunities to play, explore, and burn off her puppy energy. When she's done playing and being silly, she turns into a major cuddle bug for nap time. She's happiest when she's with her humans and never passes up the chance to share her sweet puppy kisses with them. Her curious nature and growing love for the outdoors make her an ideal adventure buddy. She enjoys exploring new environments, sniffing around on walks, and taking in all the sights and smells around her. She would do especially well with someone who enjoys nature, whether that’s walking local trails, visiting parks, or going on longer weekend hikes. Molly is medium energy, so she has short bursts of puppy energy that are quickly burned with brief exercise and play sessions. Her favorite activities include playing some fun mental stimulation games that involve yummy treats, playing in the backyard, and tossing her toys around the room then chasing after them. She also loves to play with other dogs and her face lights up when she meets a new furry friend. While she enjoys playing with her doggy friends, she’s also perfectly content to entertain herself with her favorite toys when she can't find another pup to play with. If she can't find a human or dog to play with, she will keep herself busy playing with her stuffed animals, chewing on a bone, or taking a nap. Once playtime wraps up, her sweet and snuggly side takes center stage. She’s happiest curled up next to her favorite human, enjoying a cozy couch cuddle and a puppy nap. She also loves sprawling out in the grass and sunbathing while she naps. She would love to join her humans for casual neighborhood walks in the evenings or exploring longer nature trails on the weekends. Hiking through the woods, splashing around near the water, or strolling through town for some new sights and smells, Molly will always be happy to go along for the ride. With her adaptable energy level, she’s just as content with a short playtime activities as she is going on a bigger, more adventurous outings. Molly is dog and kid friendly, but hasn't been introduced to cats inside a home environment. She has been in a foster home with two large dogs, a small chihuahua, and a young foster puppy. She loves them all and enjoys playing with whatever dog wants to be her friend. She has been especially good with the younger foster puppy and has been showing him how to be a good dog. She's been able to teach him some important socialization skills and proper doggy communication. She would love to have another dog in the home to play and snuggle with. She would be perfectly fine being the only dog in the home, but she would benefit from having frequent play dates with other dogs because she is very social, and loves to have fun running and playing with them. When it comes to cats, she will playfully chase them out of the backyard when the neighborhood kitties roll through but she has not been introduced to cats inside the home. If there are kitties in the home, slow introductions are a must because she is a puppy and will want to play with them. Molly has been around younger and older kids, and loves them all! She is very playful, silly, and sweet, and she loves to get pets and share sweet puppy kisses with all of them. She is the perfect pup for a family with kids because she loves affection and cuddle time, and is also always ready to have some fun. Because she is more on the active side and still very much a puppy, she would do best with older kids who can run around and play with her in the backyard. Molly is kennel trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She is doing well with leash training, and loves going on walks and fun outings with her humans. She will need additional practice with that when she gets to her forever home because she is a puppy and still gets distracted along the way. When she sees a new person or dog, she gets excited and she wants to be their best friend right away, so her fosters are working on training her to be neutral on walks, but she continued training is recommended so she can learn to walk like a calm lady on her outings. Molly does sleep in a kennel at night and will go in without a fuss. She loves to have a yummy treat and some toys in her kennel with her and she will sleep throughout the night without making a peep. She would love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible when she is in her forever home, but will be perfectly content on a dog bed right next to your bed too. She is fully potty trained and will notify you that she needs to go outside by pacing by the back door. If you don't see her standing there, eventually she will let out a bark to let you know she really needs to go outside. Molly can make any place feel like home. With her adaptable, fun-loving nature, she would be a wonderful fit for a variety of households. Whether it's a house with a fenced in backyard in a suburban neighborhood or a busy downtown apartment complex, she will be able to adjust and live happily. She does need a few walks or play sessions each day. She would do love to have a family that has other dogs and kids to play and cuddle with. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from going to doggy day care to help her burn her puppy energy, continue socializing, and to learn proper play etiquette with other dogs as she continues to grow. No public dog parks for this sweet girl (who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways), but she would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots or doggy day care occasionally for playtime and exercise if she does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. Whether she’s exploring the outdoors or curled up for snuggles, Molly just wants to share life with her people. She’s so excited to find a forever family who will give her all the love, adventure, and companionship she dreams of. Molly is in a foster home in Texas. She can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations This is a courtesy post for LAPP Dog Rescue. TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back. Applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so when you submit an application it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The cost to adopt is $550, which includes $300 adoption fee and a $250 transport fee. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay procedure, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus any necessary vet care while in the rescue's care. The transport fee of $250 is to transport Molly from her foster home to her forever home.
