AvailableAbout Roxy Jones
A month after Roxy Jones was hit by a car and left with two broken legs and a luxated hip, she was brought to All God's Creatures Animal Hospital by her owner, who requested that she be euthanized. After examining Roxy and reviewing X-rays, the veterinary team contacted us. We discussed covering the surgery to keep Roxy with her owner, but he declined, so on March 26th, she became a Frosted Face. Prior to having surgery, Roxy hung out in our lobby being sweet and friendly with everyone who visited. At 35 lbs., she is about the size of a beagle. Roxy gets along well with other dogs but is a little too interested in cats to live in a home with one. Roxy is currently recovering from surgery in a foster home with a special family who is giving her lots of TLC. Here's the latest update from her foster mom, 4 weeks into Roxy's recover. "Roxy's front leg is healing well and has been re-wrapped each week. She has definitely shown her perseverance and resilience during our time with her. She hasn't let the splint hinder her mobility. The last re-wrap has been a bit more uncomfortable, but Roxy has pushed through. She has been trying to be like our big Frosted Face Shadow, following him around, where potty breaks are and learning when the treats are best. She is definitely food motivated, a fast eater and waits patiently when we fix our meals, thinking she'll get a nibble or two. Both dogs have been sharing the numerous beds we have around, which is funny when Shadow takes a turn in Roxy's smaller bed. Roxy has fit in well, has shown her protective side when things are different or new people arrive, giving us a bark or two until it's known there's nothing to be alarmed. Her fur is growing and filling in from being shaved for her surgery. We are enjoying her company. Roxy has had lots of downtime and R&R, with plenty of naps. She's been a very easy foster these past weeks. Roxy does have a sensitive nose, rooting out any new smells; she is a good tracker. We found out she loves to be outside (under watchful eyes, of course), whether sunbathing or just catching fresh air. We're hoping that she will be able to take some longer walks soon. Roxy is a sweetheart." To meet Roxy and give her the second chance she deserves, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
