About Drama
Meet Drama (ACCT-A-244984)! Drama is a gentle, sweet-natured boy on the lookout for his forever home. He walks beautifully on leash and loves taking his time outside, happily sniffing and exploring the world around him. While he's not much for toys, he's an independent soul who enjoys doing his own thing and taking it all in. Drama can be a bit hesitant when it's time to head back into his kennel, likely because he'd much rather stay out adventuring. He may thrive best in a quieter home where he can relax, explore, and settle in at his own pace. Could Drama be the perfect, easygoing companion your family has been waiting for? Medical: On 3/18 staff noted: "Assessment: This dog has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a "doggy cold". They have been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. They will need a veterinarian to examine them before they receive surgery, if they are not already altered." On 3/15 exam Doctor noted: "Needs sedated clean and evaluation of penis. ~2-3cm of penis tip is exposed and hanging down from prepuce on awake exam. Penis tip is not being constricted by prepuce, and prepuce moves freely over the penis tip with sufficient rostral movement. There is some hair present at tip of the penis, but not causing any constriction or strangulation, and easily wiped off when sedated. Tissue of the penis is healthy upon evaluation. Even once sedated and cleaned, normal positioning is for penis tip to remain exposed and it appears that prepuce is not sufficiently rostrally located to fully cover the penis at all times. However if prepuce is tugged and held in a more rostral position, penis will remain covered appropriately. Assessment: Chronic penile tip exposure Plan Hair of prepuce was clipped to prevent accumulation over tip of the penis. Penis was cleaned and lubricated. No additional treatment needed at this time, but continue medications as prescribed. Once off hold, if no placement is found consider preputial advancement surgery or at minimum cranial tacking of prepuce at time of neuter to allow for more normal sheathing of the penis tip." On 3/11 exam Doctor noted: "Stray with paraphimosis, concern for necrosis. Bright, alert, responsive. Mild dental calculus, no apparent oral masses or foreign bodies. Intact male. Paraphimosis with crusted material and hair noted over distal end of penis, once material removed, area slightly purple but moist with no obvious wounds; paraphimosis resolved. Assessment: - Paraphimosis, resolved - Crusting material and hair over distal tip of penis, resolved - Purple hue to distal aspect of penis - r/o secondary to constricting material vs other." On 3/11 staff noted: "His private part is sticking out, wont go back in." Tolerant. https://youtube.com/shorts/NGdPVRgSN-Q?si=UCK2-FuBvSTxFiL- Behavior: Per volunteer 3/24/26: Super sweet, tiny, very vocal when other dogs were near, but after playing and getting some energy out he was less chatty. Per staff 3/20/26: Observed him with his handler- peed and pooped, walked with a loose leash, enjoyed cheese, tolerant of confinement in the crate Per staff 3/20/26: Due to behavioral improvement this dog is being leveled down from gold to green On 3/15 behavior evaluation: "Kennel presentation: He was at the front of his kennel when I approached. He had soft eyes. I was able to easily leash him. Leash Skills: He walks really great on leash and did not pull throughout the kennels or outside. He peed and pooped as soon as we got outside. Sociability: He spent a majority of the time sniffing around. When I got down on his level he did approach me with a loose body and swooping tails wags but would quickly return to sniffing. I pet him on the back and he remained loose. He did not take any treats from me. Play & Toys: I tossed some toys around and he had no reaction. Dog interaction (must be on video if meeting face-to-face): Saw 2 dogs from a distance while walking back inside. His tail would go up but that was all and he kept walking along. Returning to kennel: Required quite a bit of leash pressure to go back in. Color level: Gold On 3/11 APO noted: "Caller stated that she found this dog running loose and brought it into her house, called us to pick him up. Removed from this location. He has chip."
