About Bayou John
Meet Bayou John: Your New Low-Key Best Friend Looking for a calm soul to balance out your busy life? Meet Bayou John, a one-year-old Bulldog mix who is as smooth and easy-going as a slow-moving river. Weighing in at a sturdy 30 pounds, he's the perfect "medium" size-sturdy enough for adventures, but small enough to fit perfectly on your lap. The Bayou John Vibe Bayou John isn't your typical "bark-at-everything" kind of guy. He's a professional observer, preferring to watch the world go by with a thoughtful tilt of his head rather than making a fuss. His two favorite hobbies? 1. Sunbathing: He will find every single sunbeam in your house and claim it. 2. Cloud Chasing: By "clouds," we mean the fluffiest dog beds you can find. Home Manners Bayou John is a true gentleman-in-training who has already mastered the basics. He is: Fully Potty Trained: No "swamps" in the house here! Crate Trained: He views his crate as his personal den. Neutered & Healthy: Ready to move right in. Social Life & Quirks Dog Friendly: He plays well with others and enjoys the company of four-legged friends. Bath Time Enthusiast: Surprisingly, Bayou John loves a good scrub! There is just one tiny condition: you have to hold his paw. As long as he's holding your hand, he's the bravest boy in the tub. If you're looking for a quiet, cuddly, and quirky companion to share your snacks and your sunshine with, Bayou John is waiting for you. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. ***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
