About Patsy

Meet Patsy, a social, sweet, long haired Calico. Patsy was one of many kitties who came from a farm overrun with cats when one of the owners died, the other elderly who became overwhelmed with the cats overpopulating and unable to feed or care for those with medical needs. The location of the farm is located between two counties so the kitties who have been trapped are called the "south county line kitties" and are named after country western singers. Patsy is likely the mother to many of the cats born on this property. Outdoor/barn life can be hard on a cat. Patsy came to use with an eye and ear infection, terrible mats, and teeth that needed dental care. After some antibiotics, some dental treatment, and a good shaving Patsy is ready to find her forever home. Currently, she sports a lion's cut because her mats were so severe and numerous. Her beautifully colored fur will grow back nicely and her adopter will need to provide some maintenance brushing. Patsy is a lover. She LOVES pets, especially head scratches. She likes to rub against her foster Mom seeking attention. Like many country mamas Patsy is a wonderful biscuit maker. In exchange for pets she will make you biscuits, chirp, and purr contentedly. Patsy likes to bat around jingle balls and springs. She adores wet food, treats and licks her plate clean. Patsy does have some knee and ankle arthritis, not uncommon for older cats. She gets around well in her foster home, jumping on her cat condo and using the ramp the foster Mom has to make climbing onto the futon easier for Patsy. Patsy would be great for a single person or a couple. She would enjoy nothing more than to be pet and be near her person all day. Patsy would do fine in a family with older respectful kids as well. Patsy is a kitty who is easy to love. She has a great disposition, is always happy to see you, and never makes a fuss. Patsy also does well with other friendly kitties so could live in a multi-cat household. With an approved application, a visit will be arranged to meet Patsy at her foster home. Patsy is ready for someone to give her a good life now that she has retired from baby making and barn work. Patsy is loved by everyone she meets! Patsy has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Patsy has an approximate birthdate of 02/09/2014. Her adoption fee is $95. If you are interested in Patsy or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4. Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids. Thank you!
