About Melba

Meet Melba. Born around February 1, 2024, this beautiful tortie girl is equal parts gentle observer, quiet companion, and nighttime cuddle specialist. Melba can be a little shy when first meeting new people, especially children, but she doesn't take long to come around-particularly if snacks are involved. Once she's comfortable, she's incredibly social and loving, forming strong bonds with her people while still maintaining a touch of independence. She's not the type to demand constant attention; instead, she'll often choose a cozy spot just a few feet away, perfectly content to be near you without being right on top of you. That is, until bedtime-when she reveals her true agenda and quietly settles in right on top of you for the night. She has a calm, relaxed personality and tends to spend her days curled up in a soft little ball, keeping you company in the most peaceful way. While she's not especially toy-driven, she'll occasionally indulge in a bit of play with her pink mouse or a crinkle ball, just enough to remind you there's still a playful side tucked in there. Melba shares a special bond with her longtime partner, Marmalade. The two have been together for years, raising kittens and navigating life side by side. While she has her own independent streak, she clearly feels most confident with him nearby and often follows his lead. Because of this, she would love to be adopted with Marmalade if possible. If Melba had a job, she'd be a physical therapist. She has a particular talent for climbing onto you at night and kneading away the day's stress like a tiny, purring professional. It's a skill she takes seriously, even if it interrupts your sleep just a little. Melba's ideal home is one that appreciates a quieter, more subtle kind of affection-a place where she can take her time settling in, enjoy a cozy routine, and share her gentle companionship. She may not always be in your lap, but she'll always be close, and when the lights go out, she'll be right where she belongs.
