Dolly is a beautiful 4-year-old Turkish Angora with a gentle, independent spirit and a loving nature. She gets along well with other cats but would do best in a home without dogs. While she hasn’t lived with children full-time, she has been comfortable keeping her distance when they are around. Dolly was born deaf, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She’s incredibly intelligent, observant, and curious. Because of her deafness, her other senses are heightened—she’s very aware of movement and touch, and her eyesight is sharp. She’s also a quiet girl and will only meow when she wants something, like a door opened. She has lovely manners and is a very well-behaved cat. Dolly uses her scratching post (not furniture!) and enjoys a calm, predictable environment. She does best with light brushing on her terms, as she can become overstimulated and will simply retreat to a quiet space when she’s had enough. Dolly enjoys the simple things—cozy beds (especially with a heating pad), sunny window seats, and watching the world go by. While she’s mostly relaxed and content to lounge during the day, she lights up during playtime and loves chasing laser lights and sunbeams. One thing to note—she is scared of fans or anything with spinning blades. At night, Dolly settles in nicely and enjoys a consistent routine. She’s used to sleeping in her person’s room in her own bed but is always happy to share a snuggle or two. She’s even learned to respond to hand signals and will offer her own version of a “high-five” for treats—just one of the many things that make her so special. Dolly is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and has received regular veterinary care. She has also been professionally groomed twice a year to keep her beautiful coat in top condition.
