Meet Emma! This beautiful 2-3 year old boykin spaniel was surrendered to a vet clinic while in active labor. Her owner threatened to shoot her after she had been attempting to birth her puppies for 3-5 days before he accepted help. She was rushed into an emergency c-section where her premature puppies were also in dire need of help. Unfortunately after this heartbreaking ordeal, none of her puppies survived. Emma suffered many health concerns after her c-section, including paralysis. Now in a foster home, she is slowly healing, starting to walk, and work on her manners! She is an outgoing and loving girl despite her past. Here's what her foster has to say: "She has been healing well & gaining both strength & muscle. She is able to go up & down stairs as well as stand up onto the couch! She is house trained. She has a routine of going out every 4 hours except overnight. She has learned to respect the cats' boundaries. She is aloof with the larger cat but still wants to investigate the smaller one. We think she would do well with larger cats or a home without. She is a happy & attention seeking girl. She is healing so well & getting stronger every day. She still has some road ahead but she will be just fine!!"
