Maybe it's because I keep things cool, calm, and collected... like I've got life all figured out. Don't let the pictures fool you, I'm a small, short guy under 20 pounds. I'm not here to be the center of attention or the life of the party. I'm more of a "hang back, take it all in, and vibe at my own pace" kind of dog. I enjoy the simple things. Give me a yard and I'll happily wander around, sniffing and exploring like I'm on my own little adventure. I'm independent and pretty low key, not big on toys or treats, and I'm perfectly content just doing my own thing. I can be a little shy at first and may seem standoffish, but I just like to take my time getting to know new people. Once I feel comfortable and start to trust you, you'll see my happy side come out. Tail wagging, coming up to say hello, maybe even a little jump up for a hug. You just have to let me get there at my own pace. I'm easy to walk on a leash, quiet, and overall a very laidback companion. I don't ask for much, just a calm environment and someone patient who understands that the best connections take a little time to build. I came in with two other small dogs, Mouse and Twister, so I've been around canine friends before. If you have a dog at home, a meet and greet at our shelter is required to make sure we're a good match. I came to the shelter due to changes in my previous living situation, and now I'm ready for a fresh start with someone who will give me the time and space I need to feel safe and settled.
