To schedule a time to meet this pet, please email apurvis@arl-iowa.org. --- - Can be very uncomfortable and somewhat fearful with new people and situations, but has been gaining confidence and has a lot of potential; looking for patient, mature people who will give him extra time to settle in and continue to help him with confidence-building - Once he is comfortable, he enjoys spending time with the people he knows and trusts - Kids can be too much for him right now, especially young, noisy or busy ones, or those not old enough to understand and respect when he needs his personal space - Sometimes isn't sure how to act around other dogs and can be socially awkward, but he may do OK with like-minded dogs (dog intro recommended) - We don't know his history with cats All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
