Trusty is a big, soulful Bloodhound who has clearly been through more than his fair share-but true to his name, he's still holding on and hoping for kindness. When Trusty arrived, it was obvious life hadn't been easy. He came in thin, covered in ticks and dirt, with painful swelling in one of his front legs caused by a large abscess. He also has serious eye issues, including severe entropion (his eyelids roll inward), which has caused chronic irritation and discharge. Right now, our medical team is working to determine the best path forward to make him comfortable-whether that means surgical eyelid repair or another treatment option.Trusty is also heartworm positive and likely dealing with some arthritis in his back legs, which can make it hard for him to sit or stand comfortably. In short, this sweet hound has a lot going on medically-but none of it has taken away his quiet resilience. What Trusty needs most right now is time, patience, and TLC. New environments can be overwhelming for him, and he'll need someone who can help him slowly decompress and learn that he's safe. A calm home, gentle handling, and a soft place to rest will make a world of difference for this sensitive boy. Bloodhounds are known for their loyalty and gentle nature, and with the right person by his side, Trusty has every chance to show just how special he is.
