About Boswell
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Introducing Boswell, a distinguished gentleman ready for a new chapter thanks to a caring transfer from Animal Rescue Corps. Boswell is a sweet and loving Chow Chow/mixed breed who thrives with experienced dog owners willing to invest time in building his confidence and working on his leash manners. He may be nervous or timid with new people and unfamiliar places, so gentle introductions are key for both people and pets. Boswell would do best in a home with children aged 12 or older, though homes with younger kids and a solid Chow background may be considered after discussion. Being a double-coated breed, Boswell requires regular grooming and brushing to keep his beautiful fur healthy. For his ongoing health, it’s recommended that his adopter schedules a full blood panel once a year to monitor his liver enzymes. Boswell is seeking a patient, loving home ready to support him so he can blossom into a loyal family member. If you’d like to learn more, the kennel team at Virginia Beach SPCA will be happy to answer any questions when you come to visit. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Boswell
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chow Chows and mixed breed dogs are best suited to homes with access to a secure yard and a calm, stable environment. They appreciate a quieter home where they can feel safe and form strong bonds with their family.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While Chow Chows and mixed breed dogs appreciate having a secure yard, they do not require extremely large spaces so long as they receive regular walks and exercise. Supervised outdoor time and daily activity are important for mental and physical health.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chow Chows can be good with children, especially if socialized early, but due to their reserved nature and independent streak, they are generally recommended for families with older, respectful children.
