About Bow
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Meet Bow, a spirited and playful one-year-old Schnauzer/Cairn Terrier mix. Bow weighs about 14 pounds and brings plenty of youthful energy to his foster home, where he delights in running around and playing with chew toys. He is crate trained—sleeping soundly through the night and doing well if left alone for an hour or two in his crate, with no barking. Bow is mostly potty trained, having had only a few accidents in his foster home. He enjoys the company of the resident dogs, learns from their cues, and plays nicely with them. Bow walks reasonably well on a leash but is very fearful when encountering strangers—both people and dogs—during walks. His response includes barking, lunging, and the occasional nip at ankles or clothing, though with a few minutes of patience, he calms and becomes more comfortable. Given this behavior, Bow is not suitable for homes with children, and he will benefit from further training to build his confidence and manners around new people and situations. He is best matched with a household looking for an active, intelligent young dog who needs both regular exercise and positive reinforcement. Bow is microchipped, up to date on all his vaccines, and has already been neutered. All dogs at Second Chance Dog Rescue live in loving foster homes until their adoption, helping prepare them for their forever families! Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Bow
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Schnauzer/Cairn Terrier mixes tend to adapt well to various living environments, including apartments and houses, as long as they receive adequate exercise. A secure yard or access to outdoor spaces is a bonus, but they are happy as long as they can spend time with their people.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix does not require a large yard but benefits from regular outdoor walks and a safe place to play. Frequent outings and play sessions help burn off their energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Schnauzer/Cairn Terrier mixes are generally affectionate and can do well with older, respectful children. However, due to their energetic and sometimes territorial nature, close supervision is recommended, particularly with younger children.
