About Bonnie
How this pet arrived:Bonnie was brought in by a community member on March 17, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Introducing Bonnie! She's not looking to be your personal trainer-short strolls and cool indoor lounging suit her best, especially since her flat face makes long walks and hot midday outings uncomfortable. Air conditioning is her happy place, and she'll do best in a calm home without a lot of foot traffic or the hustle and bustle of young children. Bonnie can be wary of new people and has shown fearful or mildly defensive behavior, but with time she has become more relaxed and more tolerant of handling and interaction. Bonnie will do best with adopters who move at her pace and give her the space she needs to feel secure. She would benefit from a home with minimal activity, and adopters should plan to go slow and allow her to build comfort over time. Bonnie also has ongoing medical needs that her adopter should be prepared to manage. She has chronic cherry eye in both eyes, and although surgical repair was attempted on 3/22, this condition often recurs and may require another procedure in the future at the adopter's expense; consultation with a veterinary ophthalmologist may be helpful. As a brachycephalic (flat-faced) breed, meaning she has a shortened nose and airway, Bonnie can be sensitive to heat and may have some breathing challenges. She also has dry eye (KCS), which requires lifelong medication and regular veterinary follow-up to keep her comfortable and healthy.
