Location: Big Lake, MN Lightning is such a sweet boy. He took a minute to get comfortable around his foster parents but the fosters resident dogs have helped him so much. They are showing him how to be domesticated after his time spent roaming the reservation. He's learning that people can be trusted and that having a home is so much fun. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt this sweetheart will need patience and give him time to warm up. Ideally, he should go to a home with other friendly dogs, that's where he feels the most confident. He has been good around the fosters cat, sometimes wants to play with her but listens to her corrections and has had no issues. We have been working on going potty outside. He was scared to be on a leash at first but has warmed up to it. If adopter has a fenced in backyard he will need to be monitored as he got out of a fenced in backyard a couple times. Will need work on training with basic commands. He has been good being left out while the fosters are gone. Not sure how he is in a kennel but would assume he would breakout of it if it's not heavy duty. He is mostly quiet, will whine briefly when fosters first leave but settles down quickly. Overall, he is a great dog that anyone would be lucky to have. Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
