About Oliver

Oliver is a 1-year-old, 9lb Shorkie (Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix) looking for his fresh start in Cape Coral, FL. He didn't get the softest landing in life, so he's still figuring out who to trust, and he takes introductions to new people and other dogs slowly. His foster mom has been showing him the ropes, and every day brings a little more confidence. He does okay with his mature female foster sibling but would prefer to be the only dog so he can soak up all your attention. Cats are an unknown territory for him. Oliver absolutely needs an adult-only home—no kids. His favorite place is stretched out on the couch or sleeping beside his foster mom at night. If comfort could be a hobby, he'd have a gold medal. Oliver is almost fully housetrained; he hasn’t figured out how to signal when he needs to go, but as long as he’s taken out often, he’s accident-free. He handles the crate fine and is still a true puppy at heart—chewing things and always looking for his next toy. Puppy-proof your home, or your shoes may never forgive you. Leash walks bring out his nerves, so a secure fenced yard is a must—much less stress for everyone. Oliver needs a patient, experienced adopter willing to help him grow at his own pace and let him feel secure. Underneath his hesitant start is a dog with plenty of potential, just waiting for the right person to bring it out. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
