Cobalt, also called Kobe, had a tough time in the shelter system. After bouncing between San Diego's DAS Bonita and Carlsbad facilities, he became visibly kennel-stressed. Stray life left him uneasy at first, skittish inside the kennel, but once out, his guard dropped and his real personality came through. He adores toys—especially his crinkle dog and dinosaur—and will spend ages tossing them around. Walks are Kobe’s favorite; he charges out eagerly at first but responds well to redirection and settles into a steady pace. He naps in his crate when he thinks no one is watching, though he isn’t quite sleeping in it through the night yet. Kobe fits into a multi-dog house, doing well with a group of six dogs of different sizes and both genders. Despite his clipped ears and the tough look it gives him, he’s a softie who loves car rides, exploring on walks, and lounging—a far cry from intimidating.
