I am super goofy and I almost always have the cutest little grin on my face. I love to roll over and hold my toys up in the air with my paws. In a pinch, if no one is available to play, I can toss my toys up on my own and run after them. I will need someone on call most of the day to snuggle and give me scritches of the head or butt variety. I am very smart, so I would like someone who can keep teaching me tricks. I have learned a lot about how to settle and be calm, so I guess we might as well keep practicing that too. I prefer slow introductions to new people. I might get spooked and cower behind my mom's legs or I might let out some of my best defense barks. But for the low price of a dozen treats and a low-key hang sesh, I will be anyone's best friend. And I will probably cry when they leave to go home. I love to run and explore, I will join you on a walk at the drop of a hat! And if you happen to open a car door, good luck stopping me from hopping in. Honestly, I will join you for whatever, I love being with my people. I have really been working on and improving my ability to handle being alone when my family goes to work. They have yet to quit their jobs and stay home with me indefinitely, despite my many requests. At bedtime my favorite sleeping spot is curled up in the crook of your knees, so I do hope you are a side sleeper. You might look at my weight and think I exceed the size limit for a lap dog, but I assure you I fold into a very convenient travel size version for cuddling. I do have quirks; like sometimes I make little snorts that sound like a pig. But I've been told it's endearing. You know like when you laugh so hard you snort? Or when you get so excited you pee a little bit? I do that last one too. But for the most part, my pottying all happens outside in the yard. My foster mom will tell you that I cannot be trusted alone in the backyard with sticks. She's lying, they are good for me and they do not make me throw up at 4am. That was probably from the singular blueberry I ate the day before. I am looking for someone just as sturdy as me because I enjoy some good roughhousing. This might include flopping on your lap or playfully pretending to mouth your hands. Along the same lines, I am struggling to understand why my foster mom insists that I have to stop jumping on her. Sometimes, I jump because I am stressed out or really excited and those feelings can be intense. But sometimes I just need a biiiiig stretch and human shoulders are the perfect place to do that. I have previously lived with an older kid, so I would not say that a house with older kids is off the table. But with my current rowdiness levels (however playful and well-intended) being what they are, it would really depend on if my new family was willing to put in consistent work to train and manage my jumping and overall body control. I will say though, my new family cannot live in a china shop... That one is non-negotiable because I am a pitbull and bulls and china shops just don't quite mix. When I am not overly excited, I am surprisingly gentle and so polite! You could say I am a gentle giant, but not a graceful one.
