This sassy, snuggly little lady is an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier weighing 8#, who has a big, delightful personality to complement her tiny frame! Jade is a charming social butterfly who enjoys meeting new friends; canine, feline and human alike! Her foster siblings include a few sweet dogs of different sizes and several friendly cats, and she does well with all of them. (That said, she’s a confident girl who's not afraid to speak up if another dog shows too much interest in her toys, or tries to jump up and join her in the human's lap!) Jade's ideal family will be an adult family with small dog experience. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, she can be a bit possessive of her humans; so she may be happiest as your *one and only* at home, with an opportunity for playdates outside or elsewhere! Jade has some food allergies that are easily managed by supplementing her high quality kibble with some (minimal) home cooking; she enjoys her meals thoroughly and eats them heartily! Jade's favorite place in the world is in your arms, and she’ll happily stay there as long as you’ll let her. Whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an errand, she's happy to be your constant companion—especially if there’s a car ride involved (her favorite)! Jade's ears perk up when she hears the car keys jingle, and she zips toward the door if she sees foster mom putting her coat on; so extra caution must be taken so she doesn't excitedly dart out a doorway. Jade loves to go for walks and gets excited when she sees the leash-- she's a great little walker on a harness. She is house-trained and crate-trained, though she's a very polite houseguest and does not require a crate. (She doesn't love crating either, and will bark when she goes in; she would much prefer being in a room behind a baby gate if you need her safely confined to a room when you're not home). If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who will shower you with love and happily be your shadow, this tiny snugglebug might just be your perfect match. PLEASE NOTE: Jade needs to visit the groomer every 8-10 weeks to keep her skin and coat healthy.
