Meet Shayla, a 2–3 year old red shepherd mix with a huge heart and an even bigger toothy morning grin. She’s thrilled just to see her people each day—though breakfast gets her pretty pumped, too. Shayla’s gentle nature shines through; she adores kids, seems relaxed about food, and is totally comfortable being petted and handled. There’s just no edge to her—she’s a trusting dog who wants to make her humans happy. Shayla thrives outdoors. She loves to roam, chase lizards, show off her jumps, and do playful zoomies when the mood strikes. Her recall isn’t perfect, but she keeps close and is easy to leash up when needed. She gets along great with other dogs and will give a few watchdog barks when strangers approach, but settles quickly once she knows it’s safe. She is still adapting to indoor home life, so her new family should give her patience and affection as she finds her rhythm. She’s now moving beyond her mothering days and is eager to start fresh in a home where outdoor adventures and couch cuddles are both on the menu.
