About Coal Porter

Meet Coal Porter, a very playful and mischievous black cat! Coal likes to think he is a rather mysterious feline, but he’s a pretty easy fellow to figure out. Coal’s favorite toys are mice, his cardboard scratcher and his foster brother Tang. Coal loves to be around his humans, following his foster mom around and watching everything she does. This sweet guy apparently thinks he has to keep a close eye on her, because he never knows what she might get into! Coal’s afternoon daily activity is bird watching from a sunroom window. At first Coal was a bit skeptical about meeting new people, but now he greets visitors at the door. Coal and his foster brother Tang have developed a great relationship with one another over time, and we plan to place them together in their forever home. Coal loves to chase Tang (although it’s possible that he loves it more than his brother does!). His favorite sleeping spots are the couch in the sunroom, the top of his cardboard scratcher, or at the end of his foster mom’s bed (nighttime snoozing). Coal’s foster mom says this gentle cat is a very loving and sweet companion. If you would like to learn more about Coal Porter and Tang, and arrange to meet them, please email info@chicagocatrescue.org for the quickest reply, or call 773/203-0215. No texts, please. CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our respective Chicago foster families. Most of our foster families reside on the north side of the city. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home. At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. In our experience, most cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone. Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home. Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, foster@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
