Kolbe is about 4 years old, 65 pounds, and living proof of just how much a dog can transform when someone gives them a chance. He was pulled from a junkyard in the desert in August 2024 and has spent the last several months in a training-focused foster home rebuilding his strength, confidence, and trust in the world. And wow… has he delivered. Today, Kolbe is healthy, happy, neutered, vaccinated, and thriving. He’s even taken on a role as a little “helper dog” in his foster home—learning the ropes of farm life and showing other dogs how it’s done. He’s incredibly social with people (like, really loves his humans) and enjoys being part of whatever you’re doing. He’s also dog-friendly, though he can come in a little hot with his enthusiasm—very on-brand for a playful pittie. Give him a minute and he settles in just fine. Kolbe has a solid obedience foundation—he knows sit, down, place, recall, and “out”—and he can walk nicely in public without making a scene. He’s just as happy heading out on an adventure as he is lounging around the house chewing on a favorite toy or proudly carrying around his latest “treasure.” Because of his higher prey drive, Kolbe is looking for a home without cats or small animals. And here’s the thing about Kolbe… he’s the kind of dog people say they want: trained, social, adaptable, and fun. But he’s also a black pittie—which means he keeps getting overlooked.
