Meet Rio! Rio is currently fostered in Massachusetts. She is available for out of area/out of state adoption to the perfect family! Transportation to her forever home can be coordinated by our rescue. +++ Rio is a beautiful young Shepherd mix (with maybe a little Whippet in there!) who’s as graceful as she is smart. Estimated to be born around May 1, 2025, she currently weighs about 30 pounds and is growing into her lean, athletic build. We expect Rio to be a medium-sized dog one fully grown! Rescued from an abandoned home in Texas, this sweet girl has shown resilience, friendliness, and a gentle spirit that will make her a wonderful companion. Rio is doing wonderfully with her house training and is already crate trained. She’s a quick learner — her fosters say she’s even working on ringing a bell to let them know when she needs to go outside! Rio great with other dogs and would love a canine companion to play and explore with, though that’s not a requirement. She has been gentle and friendly with children and is learning her leash manners one walk at a time. While Rio can be a bit reserved at first, she’s blossoming more every day and showing her affectionate, loyal personality. Her foster family describes her as super smart, eager to please, and full of potential — the kind of pup who will thrive with love and a family excited to keep her learning and growing.
