About Pepper

female/spayed - 10 years - owner surrender Poor Pepper has been let down by people over, and over and over in her life. She was surrendered in 2017 as a yearling because the people who kept her had so many cats they couldn't keep track anymore. Miss Pepper was adopted a short time later and thought everything was GREAT!! But sadly was returned in 2019 because her keepers got a stinky dog. Once the dog came into the picture Pepper started acting out and landed back here. She was adopted quickly - thought she had it made, then her family broke up. She lived with just Mom for a while but then just Mom got a dog and another cat. That brings us here. Pepper started acting out again. Pepper is in a foster home and she is doing just fine. Problem is, Pepper is a 10 year old female who is fed up with her circumstances, fed up with being abandoned, and fed up with trying to make others happy. Her ideal home is a place without dogs and ideally without cats. (but she could probably share space with another calm cat). At this stage in her life and mental health, Pepper wants to call the shots when it comes to petting and affection. She loves to look out the window and hang out on her cat tree. She is truly and deeply happy to share space with her foster mom, and truly and deeply happy to see her foster mom when she comes home. She just doesn't want to be touched all that much and she's perfectly happy to let you know when she's done being touched. For those of you who have Torties or know Torties - you might be familiar with Pepper's specific personality. Pepper has been let down so many times in her 10 years and we just hate the thought of her being let down again. We know it is a big ask but we are looking for a very special home where her person wants to share her space and appreciate her beauty but doesn't need constant cuddles. Maybe you're the perfect place for Pepper? Pepper is currently in a foster home. For more information or to schedule a visit, please contact ntarr@pwcgov.org
