Meet Russell Crowe. Russell is an 8-month-old German Shepherd and Pit Bull mix with the classic shepherd look and a gentle, soulful energy. He’ll likely fill out to a solid 80–85 lbs as he grows. His start in life wasn’t easy—he and his brother were rescued from harsh conditions in Kitsap County, cared for by a Good Samaritan, and found safety in a loving foster home. Russell is a soft-hearted, gentle boy. He can seem reserved at first but warms up steadily with patience, treats, and kindness. Once he trusts you, his affectionate personality takes over: expect cuddles, kisses, and a loving shadow at your side. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, and suits homes with respectful kids—ideally 8 and up, or dog-savvy younger children, since he can be skittish. Russell is potty trained (with supervision), crate trained, and working on his leash skills. He still needs encouragement and confidence-building but is eager to learn from another friendly dog and a patient family. A calm home with a fenced yard is ideal, where he has room to grow and feel secure. Squeaky toys, chewy snacks, and peanut butter are his favorites. Russell isn’t the most adventurous yet, though with time and trust, he may surprise you. He’s up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will be neutered soon.
