She's a 4-year-old brindle pit bull with a heart bigger than most people you'll meet. Ava lives in a shelter in Lewis County, NY--but yesterday, she left that shelter for something extraordinary: she gave blood to save another dog's life, my Alana Her blood helped Alana survive emergency surgery. She laid there, calm and brave, trusting strangers, just to give another dog a chance at life. And then she quietly went back to the shelter she's been waiting in... because no one has come for her. Her story is even more heartbreaking: Ava once had a family. Her dad was deployed overseas, serving our country. And while he was away, the family brought Ava to the humane society 💔Just left her behind.😭 Despite everything, Ava still adores people.
