About Dexter
Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Dexter is a four-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix currently living at Lee's Summit Animal Shelter. His adoption fee is $20 and it covers his spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, microchip, DA2PP, Pyrantel, and nasal bordetella. Dexter is about 49 pounds and has great house training skills. He is spirited and has a medium to high energy level, always eager to be outside with his humans and especially loves playing with Frisbees—he’s even competed in DISC competitions! Dexter thrives one-on-one and needs to be your only dog; he prefers his personal space and should not be placed in a home with other dogs or cats, as he tends to chase or growl at them. He can be excitable and may jump, so older children are recommended until he’s fully trained. Dexter is enthusiastic about walks but will need additional leash training, and he currently knows the sit command. This devoted companion has been at the shelter for a long time and is ready to find the active yet loving family he deserves. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
