Chester is a charming 9-year-old Wirehaired Terrier with a big personality and plenty of pep left in his step. This handsome guy is a true people-dog—affectionate, attentive, and happiest when he’s right by your side (literally, he loves to follow his humans everywhere). He’s confident and knows what he wants, which means he’d prefer to be the king of his castle as the only pet in the home. Chester loves being active and would much rather go on walks, explore the outdoors, or hop in the car for an adventure than hang out at the dog park. He walks well on leash most of the time and enjoys being outside, though he can get a little excited when he spots another dog. Squirrels and rabbits may catch his eye, but he gives up the chase pretty quickly. At home, Chester is a joy. He doesn’t need a crate, does great left uncrated, and sleeps happily with his people. He’s playful and silly—zoomies make an appearance every few days, and he loves to play, especially when blankets are involved. He also has a nightly routine he takes very seriously: one Greenie toothbrush and a fun game of “chase me.” Chester would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and an active family—kids would be a big bonus, as he’d love playmates who can keep up with him. He’s still working on some house-training consistency and does well wearing belly bands while he continues to improve.
