About Big Boy
Meet Big Boy! Big Boy was found sitting in the ditch across from our local soccer fields. He was happy to jump in the car and get the heck out of there! A beautiful neutered male pit mix weighing in at 56 lbs. Big Boy loves to play kick the ball and tug o'war. He is very proud when he gets a yak chew and loves to walk around with it to show it off. He is a quiet dog and is not aggressive toward people, even strangers. He is not reactive on walks but does want to go over and meet new friends, even if they are not thrilled to meet him. We do not have a cat, but on walks he notices them, and gives them plenty of space. He is a young dog and plays hard, but after playing he is happy to just share space and hang out. He lives in my back yard for now because my frail, 83-year-old Mom lives with me, and I worry Big Boy might knock her down accidentally. I feel he has lived in a house before, but his house training will have to be reinforced. Big Boy needs a person that knows what big dogs are like and will be happy to spend time with him. He needs to be adopted by a family or dog-lover that will love him, teach him commands, provide enrichment, and won't abandon him again. He is working on his manners: not jumping, the "place" command, "sit", "heel" and "wait". He is heartworm negative and on a preventive. All vaccinations are up to date. Big Boy is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
