About Daytona

🐶 Basics ● Dog’s Name (include nicknames – we know you have them!): Daytona (Day Day, Sweet Pea, Littles) ● Age / Size:4 years, small, 30 pounds ● Rescued in Texas 💛 Personality Snapshot ● Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Low - loves to lounge ● More people‑oriented or independent? Both - Loves to be pet but can go in her own bed and relax ● How do they handle new situations? -- shy at first, keeps to self, then slowly opens up 🐕 Social & Home Life ● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? Very sweet and friendy, a little shy at first and once the petting starts shes good. She lets you do anything to her - hug her, move her, kiss her, etc. very chill ● How are they with other dogs? Keeps to herself, isn’t aggressive, shy ● Cats or other animals (if known)? unknown ● Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: Great. When left alone she just sleeps and doesn't bark, when guests come she warms up to them quickly 🎓 Training & Manners ● Potty trained? Yes - can also pee on pee pad ● Crate trained? unsure ● Leash skills: good, doesn’t pull or bite leash ● Commands known (if any): none 🌞 Daily Life ● Typical day with you: Lots of resting, petting, cuddles, a little bit of play. ● Exercise needs: She is a bit chunky so she needs diet/exercise combo, but her exercise needs are low - she doesn’t do long walks - can do about two flights of stairs and then she is done. She is on the lazier side ● Favorite activities or toys: she loves to sit on the balcony and enjoy the breeze and people watch, she has her stuffed animal she likes 🌱 Growth Areas ● Anything they’re still working on? She’s pretty much perfect ● What helps them succeed? Being calm, getting down to her level and showing her it is safe, picking her up when she is overstimulated or tired and carrying her 🏡 Ideal Home ● Only dog / With dog / Either: Unsure, she is mellow so if she’s with another sweet dog I think it could be fine ● Good fit for apartment living? Yes, very ● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): calm ● What kind of adopter would be the best match? She would do well with older people I think, because she is low maintenance and energy. She also would be fine with people who have have to go into the office because she mostly rests all day and is okay being alone. Young kids would probably overwhelm her, she isn’t super playful 💙 Foster Note She is the most precious, sweet, dog I’ve ever met, she is incredibly soft, she’s so quiet like a mouse and polite. She has tiny short legs and a chunky little body which makes her just adorable, she loves to be kissed on, her tail is crooked and her one ear is smaller than the other - she is so unique and special, just absolutely adorable. The pictures do her no justice for how cute she is. She would be the best companion, she’s mellow, loving, sweet. Everyone who walks by her just smiles. INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
