Meet Doug ❤️ Doug is a sweet, soulful boy with a huge heart and so much love to give. At 5 years old, he's past the puppy chaos and has settled into that wonderful age where he knows how to enjoy life--whether that's playtime, walks, or cozy evenings on the couch. He weighs around 47 pounds of fluffy, lovable goodness. Doug absolutely adores his people and loves with his whole heart. Though his past didn't give him all the love he deserved, he hasn't let that dim his gentle spirit. In his foster home, he enjoys playing with a younger female dog and is learning to respectfully share space with an older dog as well. Doug has mastered potty training and is learning that his kennel is a safe place--and that his people always come back. He's working on basic commands and may not be treat-motivated, but affection is his true currency. Pets, praise, and being told he's a good boy mean the world to him. He's recently discovered toys and is happy to entertain himself, but after some playtime, he's more than content to curl up beside you for a good movie. Doug enjoys walks and has very good leash manners. While certain sounds can startle him, he's making steady progress and gaining confidence every day. Doug is simply looking for the love he missed out on--and if you have that love to give, he will be your loyal companion until the ends of the earth.
