About Bear
Meet Bear Age: ~1 year Neutered: Yes Location: Foster Bear has already lived through more than most dogs should ever have to endure. He was first spotted as a young pup living on his own, surviving outdoors for months. By the time rescuers were able to locate him again, the tiny puppy collar he had been wearing had become embedded in his neck. After a long effort to safely capture him, Bear was finally brought to safety and immediately received veterinary care to treat the wounds caused by the collar. Despite everything he went through, Bear has proven to be an incredibly sweet and gentle soul. Now that he's safe in foster care, he's learning how to be a puppy all over again. He absolutely loves playing with his foster brother and sister and is starting to discover the joy of toys and bones. He enjoys walks on his harness, knows how to sit, takes treats gently, and is learning the "down" command. He's also very food motivated-he'll do just about anything for peanut butter! Bear is improving with kennel training every day and is settling nicely into home life. He is mostly housetrained, though he still has the occasional accident as he continues adjusting to indoor living. His foster describes him as a gentle giant and a perfect gentleman when meeting new people. He's affectionate, eager to learn, and loves being around his people. Other Pets & Kids: Dogs: Doing well with his foster brother and sister and enjoys playing with them Cats: Not yet tested Kids: Not yet tested Bear would do best in a home that understands the German Shepherd breed and is ready to continue helping him grow in confidence and training. He's still learning about the world after spending so much time surviving on his own, but with patience, structure, and love, Bear has all the makings of an incredible companion. This sweet boy has come a long way already, and now he's ready for the life he always deserved. Adopt: https://oklahomagsr.org/adopt Foster: https://oklahomagsr.org/foster
