What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. Upon approach, Convo is laying in her den, poking her head out of the portal exit with wide eyes and dilated pupils. When the kennel door is opened and she is softly spoken to, she begins head bunting the side wall of the portal exit, allowing and leaning into petting on the head and cheeks. Convo is able to be coaxed to the front of the kennel, slowly and hesitantly exiting to greet the assessor at the front when she is called forward. She allows all petting, leaning in and beginning to purr when she is pet. Convo is able to be easily picked up and remains calm for a few seconds before beginning to squirm. When placed back into her kennel, Convo remains at the front and continues to purr and lean into all petting. Convo interacts with the observer, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
