Carmi is a medium-sized, adult female terrier/shepherd mix who is spayed and vaccinated. She is house trained and does well with other dogs and children. Carmi currently resides in San Diego, CA, and is looking for a cat-free home where she can thrive.

About Carmi

Carmi landed in rescue after being found pregnant on the streets of Tijuana just before Christmas. Thanks to a Good Samaritan and a caring foster, she raised seven pups and is now looking for a home where she can finally rest and be the center of attention. Carmi is a young, medium-sized terrier/shepherd mix, already spayed and fully vetted—she’s ready to start her own life now that she’s done raising puppies. Carmi gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all shapes and sizes but does not do well with cats or small animals due to her prey drive. She’s gentle and playful with people, including kids—her previous foster had four young children, and Carmi did great with them. She’s crate trained, house trained, and enjoys leash walks. Car rides can make her queasy, but OTC nausea meds help, and she’s improving with practice since she enjoys outings to the dog park. As a social, people-oriented dog, Carmi fits well in many environments—retirees, families, or working adults could all be a match. She does need help with basic obedience skills since she’s never had her own family before. The rescue is seeking both fosters and adopters for Carmi, hoping she finds her place soon. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
