Miso has not had an easy start, and it shows-but we know there's a gentle, loving cat in there just waiting to feel safe enough to come out. Rescued from a backyard breeding situation where dozens of cats were kept without proper care, love, or dignity, Miso is one of the many who came from that environment. When St. Johns County Animal Control and Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue stepped in, they found cats who had been neglected and overwhelmed for far too long. Miso is one of the more sensitive souls from that group, and he's still trying to make sense of a world that hasn't always been kind to him. This beautiful Blue Point British Shorthair is understandably scared. Human touch doesn't feel safe yet, and he is especially fearful of men. His trust is fragile, and he tends to keep his distance-but that's not the whole story. We're starting to see small, hopeful changes. Miso has begun showing interest in playing, watching toys and slowly engaging in his own cautious way. These little moments matter-they tell us he wants to come out of his shell, even if he's not quite there yet. Right now, the cat cafe environment is overwhelming for him. With all the activity, people, and noise, he retreats and tries to stay invisible. What he truly needs is a quiet, patient home where he can finally feel safe and start to relax. Miso isn't going to be an instant cuddle cat-but with time, patience, and understanding, we believe he will blossom. Cats like him don't forget kindness once they learn to trust it.
