About Peter
They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Peter is a unique cat looking for a special and understanding home. Enrolled in the TABBY program at Wayside, he has made great progress with his confidence, but he is still on his journey toward feeling truly comfortable. Peter does not enjoy being touched, yet he finds lots of joy in toys, stimulating videos, and activities that offer enrichment. He's very food motivated and will let you know it—he's quite the talker! Peter will thrive with someone who appreciates his quirks, enjoys interactive play, and is happy to engage from a distance when needed. To ensure his success, Peter is searching for a patient, cat-savvy adopter. While he could potentially live in a home with no children under 15, a home without children at all is most highly recommended. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!

Questions about Peter
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Domestic short hair cats are highly adaptable and thrive in a variety of home environments, from spacious houses to cozy apartments. They do best when given access to plenty of enrichment and safe, comfortable resting spots.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Domestic short hair cats can be very content as indoor-only pets and do not require outdoor space. Supervised outdoor access, like a catio or secure yard, can be a nice bonus but is not necessary for their well-being.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Generally, domestic short hair cats can do well in homes with respectful children, but individual personalities vary. Early socialization is key, and introducing children slowly and gently will help the cat feel comfortable.
