About Togo
Meet Togo, a quiet soul with a soft heart and a gentle presence. At 2 years old and about 33.5 pounds, Togo packs all the spirit and beauty of a "mini Husky" into a smaller, more graceful body. Unlike the outgoing Husky stereotype, he prefers to watch from the sidelines, taking his time before warming up. Togo’s shyness means he won’t be the first to greet a stranger—instead, he’ll sneak in a cautious sniff or an unexpected kiss when you least expect it. He needs time and a calm space to settle in, but each step of trust he offers feels hard-won and meaningful. Togo will thrive in a patient, understanding home—ideally adult-only or with older, dog-savvy teens who respect his need to build trust at his pace. He’ll need a secure fenced yard for safe exploration. Togo gets along well with other dogs but isn’t yet house trained. Currently heartworm positive, he has begun treatment and the rescue will ensure it continues with his new family’s vet. Neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, Togo is ready to start again, slowly and in his own way. The unique bond you’ll build with this shy, loyal dog will be worth every patient moment. Togo and other Husky/mixed breeds need access to a fenced yard or similar outdoor space for daily exercise and safe exploration. They're curious and benefit from having room to stretch their legs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While Huskies can make great family dogs, Togo’s shy and sensitive temperament means he is better suited for adult-only homes or homes with older, respectful teenagers who understand his need for patience.
