Hi! I'm Meerkat-but my foster calls me Catie May-and I'm a fun little pup learning what it means to feel safe in the world. Every day my confidence grows, and my fear is getting smaller and smaller! I go outside on a harness and leash to do my business like a good girl, and I'm starting to discover how fun life can be. Toys are brand new to me, but wow... I LOVE them! I'm also learning how to play with other dogs, though sometimes I forget how sharp my tiny puppy teeth are (oops!). Meeting new people can be a little scary for me at first. I need some time and patience to warm up, but once I do, I really shine. I'm happiest curled up in a lap, soaking up all the love and feeling safe with my person. Right now, I sleep in a playpen since I'm still working on nighttime potty training and don't always know how to let you know I need to go-but I'm learning! I have a big personality packed into my little body. One of the cutest things about me? When I see my person, I can't help but smile and squeal with excitement! My tail wags so hard that my whole back end joins in. If you've been gone, I'll greet you like it's been forever-I just love my people that much. I'm still a puppy, so I do like to chew (I'm working on sticking to my toys!), and I'll happily lay right next to you while you relax. I may not be the kind of pup who instantly loves strangers, but if you give me the time I need, I promise I'll give you my whole heart. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue.
