Ranger is back... and he doesn’t understand why. Just last year, Ranger left our shelter as a happy puppy with his whole life ahead of him. Now, at only 1 1⁄2 years old, he’s back - and completely heartbroken. Through no fault of his own, Ranger lost his home. His owner loved him, but long work hours and financial struggles made it impossible to give him the time he needs. And now... Ranger sits in his kennel, scared and confused, waiting for someone who isn’t coming back. Ranger is incredibly sweet and affectionate, the kind of dog who just wants to be close to his people, soaking up love and giving it right back. He is young, energetic and strong. This handsome Lab mix is 68 lbs of love and loyalty. He’s housebroken, smart, and knows his commands. He walks nicely on leash with his training collar and has done well with other dogs—he even went to doggy daycare! He likes kids and truly just wants to be part of a family again. But shelter life is not for Ranger. He is struggling. He doesn’t like the kennel, and you can see it in his eyes—he’s searching, waiting, hoping.
