Luna is a bright, beautiful 4 month old German Shepherd mix puppy. Our understanding is mom is a German Sheperd and dad a German Shepherd/Malinois mix who presents very much like a Belgian Malinois in both looks and temperament. She is incredibly intelligent, highly driven, and full of energy—truly a “working dog” in a young puppy's body. Luna thrives when she has structure and engagement. She is already housebroken and has made great progress with her puppy manners, including a noticeable reduction in puppy biting. That said, as her excitement or stimulation increases, she can still become mouthy and may nip or grab at clothing or nearby items. Like many high-drive working breeds, she will need continued, consistent training and guidance in this area. During calm moments, Luna shows her very sweet and affectionate side. She loves belly rubs, scratches, and will happily give kisses. She settles well in her crate and enjoys downtime once her needs have been met. Luna is not yet ready for full run of the house, as she is curious, active, and will get into things if not closely supervised. She will do best in a home that can provide structure, boundaries, and ongoing training.Her ideal home where Luna would thrive would be with an experienced, active owner or family familiar with high-drive working breeds like the Belgian Malinois. She will need significant daily physical exercise as well as mental stimulation (training, problem-solving, “jobs” to do). Homes with a 5-6 ft fenced yard is required and no young children.
