When Lima first arrived at the shelter, she was terrified — frozen by fear, unsure of her surroundings, and needing to be carried from place to place. She’d endured more than any dog should: a dislocated shoulder, heartworm, and a life that had clearly been unkind. But even then, Lima never stopped trying. She’s beginning to show interest in toys (a huge step!), is nearly fully housebroken, and is completely non-destructive. She’s a calm, steady presence — never demanding, never pushy, always grateful for kindness. Her ideal home is peaceful, patient, and understanding. Someone who knows that trust is built slowly, with compassion and time.
