About Lima
When Lima first arrived at the shelter, she was terrified — frozen by fear, unsure of her surroundings, and needing to be carried from place to place. She’d endured more than any dog should: a dislocated shoulder, heartworm, and a life that had clearly been unkind. But even then, Lima never stopped trying. And once she moved into foster care, everything began to change. Today, Lima is blossoming. Her injured leg has since been amputated, but don’t let that fool you — it hasn’t slowed her down one bit. She walks with confidence, explores her world with gentle curiosity, and wakes up each day a little braver than the last. Lima is still slow to trust, but once she opens her heart, her softness shines. She loves to cuddle, quietly leaning in for affection. She’s beginning to show interest in toys (a huge step!), is nearly fully housebroken, and is completely non-destructive. She’s a calm, steady presence — never demanding, never pushy, always grateful for kindness. Her ideal home is peaceful, patient, and understanding. Someone who knows that trust is built slowly, with compassion and time. If you let her bloom at her own pace, Lima will reward you with loyalty, tenderness, and a quiet kind of joy that feels like a gift. Lima has fought her way back to hope. Now, she just needs someone to believe in her future.
